KRI Standing Committees

KRI has a number of standing committees. These committees do a tremendous amount of the work necessary to keep the Aquarian Teacher programs and the Aquarian Trainer Academy moving forward and always improving. Other than the Certification Committee, membership is completely open for any member of the ATA.

You are all KRI, and it is through your contributions (of your precious time, energy, wisdom, and expertise) that we grow together!

Below you can find information about each of the standing committees, what they do, who’s actively participating, and what they are working on. Any questions, concerns, or suggestions are always welcome.

Description — The purpose of this committee is to ensure the quality of the trainers of the Aquarian Trainer Academy through a rich program of skill development and competency review. This committee serves as a quality assurance group for trainers. This committee generates proposals regarding changes in the Academy that go out for a vote quarterly.

Continuing refinement of the Mentoring Development program

Description:

The purpose of the committee is to ensure that all Kundalini Yoga Teacher Trainers certified by KRI meet and maintain the established professional and ethical standards including the Code of Excellence.

The Certification Committee acts like a “judicial” branch in our governance, deciding how policies are interpreted and applied

It is the final approval for all applications, ensuring proper procedures were followed, and that there are no outstanding issues
It reviews and decides on requests for exceptions

It has the authority to:

Grant final approval to Professional and Lead candidates to the Aquarian Trainer Academy (ATA).
Grant, deny, continue or withdraw certification of KY Teacher Trainers based on the established policies and procedures.
Grant or deny licensing for Trainers.
Review and decide upon any requests for exceptions to the established policies and procedures due to special circumstances.
Review and act upon appeals by members of the Academy at all candidate levels who believe they were unfairly denied advancement.

It has the responsibility to make any recommendations in regard to policies, procedures, standards, or guidelines which it deems necessary to fulfill its purpose.

Description — This committee is focused on both the Level One and Level Two programs. It’s scope is anything to do with the content, the prerequisites, the certification requirements, and/or the KRI-supplied pedagogy tools (including by not limited to the manuals).

Description – This committee oversees everything to do with Level 3 – prerequisites, certification requirements, the participant guide, any specific issues that come up with peer group issues, etc.

Agenda Topics — review of Level Three Participant Guide

Description — This committee addresses the needs of KRI to introduce ideas and bring about processes and policies that make the organization more inclusive and accessible to all, including groups that have been previously underrepresented in the Kundalini Yoga and Meditation community.

Calendar of future meetings — 3rd Monday of every month at 11am Mountain Time

Agenda topics — working on an updated demographic survey, the creation of support groups in summits, an online diversity training course, brainstorming new ideas for projects to take on, and interfacing with the SSSC’s diversity committee

Description — This committee works with KRI staff to prepare for Global Summits, Regional Trainer Meetings and Forums. The work of the committee focuses on :

1. Proposals: the generation of Proposals and the process of bringing these proposals to a vote. When there is a veto or strong disagreement with a proposal this committee will review final edits to determine if another vote is required
2. Global Trainer Summit
  1. Review of proposed workshops for recommendations
  2. Processing the feedback on summits
  3. Participating in the delivery of the summit
