Implications of Various EPS
Statuses

Warning
or Watch

1.    Warning is a little less severe
than Watch.

2.    When a teacher or trainer is
placed on a “watch” status, there are no restrictions or changes to what they
can or can’t do from any other teacher or training who is in good
standing.

3.    Being on “Watch” status is
confidential and should NOT be made public that this is their status.

 

Active
Procedure

1.    This status indicates that
there has been a complaint filed and it is still under investigation.

2.    Until the issue has been
resolved:

a.    Trainers cannot progress in the
academy,

b.    Teachers cannot teach at a 3HO or
KRI event

c.    Certificates should NOT be reprinted if
requested

 

Probation

1.    A Teacher who is on probation
can continue to teach Kundalini Yoga, as long as they are fulfilling the
requirements of their probationary within the required time frame.

2.    A Teacher requesting their
certificate to be reprinted while on Probation status CAN have this request
fulfilled.

3.    A Teacher who is on probation
cannot participate as host, administrator or assistant in any Teacher Training
program. They cannot teach at any 3HO or
KRI event. They cannot become a member
of the Aquarian Academy. They can
continue to teach Kundalini Yoga as long as they are fulfilling the
requirements of their probation.

4.    A Teacher cannot apply to the
Aquarian Academy until 6 months after they have completed their probationary
term.

5.    A Teacher may serve in the
capacity of assistant in a Teacher Training program 6 months after they have
completed their probation.

6.    An Intern or Applicant Level
KRI Academy member on probation will be dropped from the Academy. They can reapply 6 months after the
completion of their probationary term.
They can continue to teach Kundalini Yoga as stated in 1 and 2.

7.    An Associate or Professional
Level KRI Academy member on probation can only teach in a Training program if
their mentor or mentor representative is present and supervising. They can continue to teach Kundalini Yoga as
stated in 1 and 2. They cannot apply to
the next level in the Aquarian Academy until 6 months after the completion of
their probationary term.

8.    A Lead Trainer, cannot contract
directly with KRI. They are required to
work with a Mentoring Lead, who can contract with KRI. KRI will assign or approve of a Mentoring
Lead. The Trainer on Probation cannot
teach more than 50% of the Teacher Training program. Their Lead Mentor or Lead Mentor
representative must be present and supervising no less than 50% of the time
they are teaching. A Lead Mentor
representative must be a Professional Member or above. They can continue to teach Kundalini Yoga as
stated in 1 and 2.

9.    All mentors need to be informed
of the reasons of probation.

10.  If a Teacher or Teacher Trainer
does not complete the Probationary requirement within the term of probation due
to extenuating circumstances, they can apply to the Office of Ethics &
Professional Standards (EPS) for an extension.
Otherwise their status will change to Indefinite Suspension.

11.  Probationary status is
CONFIDENTIAL and is only to be shared with the person, their mentor, and anyone
directly involved with the EPS action (such as the members of the review
committee and any additional mentors or counselors assigned by EPS).

 

Suspension

1.    If a Kundalini Yoga Teacher is
Suspended, they cannot teach Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® or
represent 3HO, KRI, IKYTA or their NKYTA.

2.    If a Teacher completes the
requirements of a given Suspension, they can reapply to the Office of EPS to
resume teaching. Some suspensions are
permanent or “indefinite”.

3.    A Teacher requesting their
certificate to be reprinted while on Suspension status CANNOT have this request
fulfilled.

4.    If a KRI Teacher Trainer is
suspended, he or she cannot serve as a Teacher Trainer. No new contracts will be signed with
KRI. It will be KRI’s discretion if the
Teacher Trainer can complete a current program.
The Teacher Trainer cannot teach Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan
or represent 3HO, KRI, IKYTA or their NKYTA.

5.    If a Trainer completes the
requirements of a given Suspension, they can reapply to the Office of EPS to
resume teaching and Teacher Training.
Some Suspensions are permanent.

6.    Being on Suspended status is
not confidential and can be shared. It
will also be made public on the EPS website.

 

Termination

1.    If a Kundalini Yoga Teacher is
Terminated, they cannot teach Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® or
represent 3HO, KRI, IKYTA or their NKYTA.

2.    A Teacher requesting their
certificate to be reprinted once they have been Terminated CANNOT have this
request fulfilled.

3.    If a KRI Teacher Trainer is
terminated, he or she cannot serve as a Teacher Trainer. No new contracts will be signed with
KRI. It will be KRI’s discretion if the
Teacher Trainer can complete a current program.
The Teacher Trainer cannot teach Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan
or represent 3HO, KRI, IKYTA or their NKYTA.

4.    Being on Terminated status is
not confidential and can be shared. It
will also be made public on the EPS website.
